Self-Recognition of the Divine
It is with emerging spiritual awakening that the true farmer, gardener, is born. Born from a deep ecology rooted in a reordering of experience in accord with spiritual love. Devotion, the love response to what is most sublime and beautiful, reorders experience shifting human knowing from reductionistic/mechanistic to participatory/holistic.
Devotion is a form of self-recognition wherein the divine circumstance of being resonates with the divine circumstance of appearing. When this happens, the human being naturally begins to mature beyond mechanistic representational thinking into a living organic awareness.
This existential awareness progressively undermines the alienated vision of life as a set of things and ourselves as a thing amongst things. The farmer whose life spirit is awakening recognizes nature, field, farm, garden as a living system. Re (again) cognizes (knows) they know again and they know that the emergent love within their own spirit is also the binding force within nature.
It is within the sphere of this knowing that a gardener or a farmer can begin to investigate the interconnections of soil, animal, plant, microbe with a newly sensitized organs of learning.
